FAQs about Brazilian Waxing

Does it hurt?
Bikini waxing does hurt, but how much depends on your pain tolerance. We have clients that sleep while getting waxed, and we have clients who feel more pain. One thing that will help with the pain is if you wax routinely and not shave in between sessions. When you shave, the hair grows back thicker and will in turn be more painful for you, however, when you wax, the follicle thins out and is less painful upon removal. Another thing that might help is to take 2 Tylenol a half hour to an hour before your visit, but most clients don’t need to do this.
How long should hair be before I get waxed?
If you shave, you should wait at least 2 weeks before coming in for a wax. The longer the hair, the easier it is for the esthetician to remove all of it with little to no tweezing. If trimming is needed, the esthetician will do so at the time of the appointment.
What should I know before waxing for the first time?
- It might be painful at first, but it will get easier with time as your hair thins out.
- You will be hairless for at least a week, with growth starting at about 2 weeks.
